About the time this email lands in your inbox, my husband and I will be heading north for a week in upstate New York. After more than a year without much traveling, I'm reminded how much getting out and going places can trigger creativity.
It's nice, refreshing, sometimes to expose our senses to new things. Were someone to code a typical writer's DNA, I think they'd find some level of wanderlust. We're curious people, us writers, curious about the world and its people.
And so, when my husband apologetically mentioned he might have to work a little during our vacation, I sighed. "Good," I thought. "I'll be able to write."
